Get involved with Boxing ACT!

All memberships are renewable annually, from 1st January. Use either the NEW MEMBER  or RETURNING MEMBER button at the bottom of this page.

Competition Boxer Membership

To compete at a boxing tournament anywhere, you must be registered as a competition boxer.

READ THE NOTES BELOW BEFORE PROCEEDING.

  • You must reside in the ACT or southern NSW to register as a boxer with Boxing ACT.

  • Apply for registration/renewal at least three weeks before you intend to compete. We do not do “last-minute” registrations. (NB To be matched for a tournament you also need to nominate for it on our Events page)

  • If you are registering as a boxer for the first time, click the Register button at the bottom of this page and select your membership type. Enter your details and attach a clear passport-style photo of your face, and a clear picture of your drivers licence or passport or similar photographic identification. You can pay by credit card online or be invoiced to pay by direct deposit to our account. You do not need to attach any other documents at this stage. ACT residents: Do NOT get a boxing medical exam until you receive the boxer record book we will send you once you have registered, as the exam must be written into the book. NSW residents aged 14+: refer to https://www.boxingact.org.au/news/nsw-combat-sport-authority/

  • Renewing members need to pay their fee (use the Renew button at bottom of page).

  • Upon registering or renewing, you will receive an automated email with links to the instructions you need to follow to complete the process. Choose the instructions that correspond with your situation.

  • NOTE that if you intend to compete anywhere outside the ACT, you MUST request from us an interstate Competition Clearance for each such event, otherwise you will be refused weigh-in at the interstate event. You can do that from the Events page: https://www.boxingact.org.au/events/

Competition Coach

If you wish to corner boxers at any tournament then you need to register as a Boxing ACT Coach and also must complete a Level 1 Coaching Course or have completed it within the last 4 years. Registration must be accompanied by a photocopy of your government Working With Vulnerable People/Children card.

COACHES WHO RESIDE IN NEW SOUTH WALES ALSO NEED TO REGISTER WITH THE NSW COMBAT SPORTS AUTHORITY IF INTENDING TO CORNER A BOXER AT A NSW EVENT.

Non-Competing Individual Membership

This category gives individuals member rights, such as insurance coverage for events run by Boxing Australia and its member associations, and voting rights at Boxing ACT general meetings, but doesn't include competition in tournaments. This category of membership is good for individuals new to boxing that want to participate in inter-gym sparring or Futures Camps, but not yet ready to compete. This category also covers  committee members or volunteers who aren't also registered as a Boxer, Coach, or Judge/Referee. Members in this category can upgrade to a full Boxer or Coach membership throughout the year and only pay the difference in membership cost.

Referee/Judge Membership

Already-accredited boxing judges or referees who are not also boxers or coaches should register with this membership category (no charge) to be covered by our insurance.

UPGRADING A MEMBERSHIP

If you are an existing financial member wanting to upgrade membership (eg non-competing upgrading to boxer), use the "Login" button at top right of this page and when logged in you'll be able to upgrade.

If you have any issues with the registration process, please email admin@boxingact.org.au or contact Boxing ACT via Facebook Messenger.
