COVID

Due to the risk of further outbreaks, spectator numbers will be strictly controlled to meet social distancing restrictions. Please be mindful of social distancing and hygiene measures. Hand sanitiser will be available throughout the venue and attendees are encouraged to consider wearing a mask.
Please do not attend if you are exhibiting symptoms or have reason to suspect you have been in contact with a COVID infected person in the 14 days prior to the event. Full refunds will be arranged if you have to avoid attendance on this basis.
All attendees are required to follow the directions of tournament staff to ensure compliance with the COVID-Safe Plan. Attendees that refuse to follow directions will be escorted from the venue.
Clearances
Interstate boxers and coaches must request clearance to compete through their State/Territory Member Association. Clearance is conducted for each tournament to ensure the boxers hold a current membership and are medically fit for competition, and that coaches hold current membership and accreditation.
ACT boxers need to login to the Boxing ACT website and upload clear photos or scans of the medical examination page of their Blue Book and their most recent Serology (blood test) results to their member profile. You can log into your Boxing ACT profile at https://www.boxingact.org.au/login.
If you don't know your Boxing ACT profile password, click the "Forgot Login Details" link and you can get a password reset sent to you by entering your username (if known) or your email address. If you have any problems with this process, email us for assistance.
Note that your medical examination must have been done within the last 12 months before the tournament. The date of the blood test must be within the last 6 months before the tournament (or 12 months if under 18).
Matching
Boxers are not to contact Boxing ACT staff directly for details regarding matching. Boxing ACT matchmakers will only discuss matching with coaches.

Sequence of Events - To be confirmed
Timings on the day of the event are as follows:
- 10:00 - 11:15am Session 1 Weigh in and medical check
- 11:15 - 12:30pm. Session 2 Weigh in and medical check
- 12:30pm Technical Brief to Coaches
- 2:00 - 5:00pm Session 1.
- 5:30- 8:30pm Session 2
Weigh-in and Medical Check
All boxers must bring their Blue Book and a copy of their most recent serology (blood test) results to the weigh-in.
Boxers will only be given one attempt to weigh-in on the official scales. A set of test scales will be available.
Male boxers must be clean shaven for the weigh-in.

Boxers and coaches will need to leave gym once weigh-in and medical is complete. Casey Shopping Mall off Clarie Hermes Drive are the nearest shops and cafes to the venue.
Coaches Brief
All coaches must attend the Coaches Brief at 12:30. The brief will be delivered in the main gym floor next to the ring. Coaches of boxers ages under 18 are required to bring a Working With Vulnerable People card or other State/Territory equivalent.
Event Sessions
Blue or red competition singlet and shorts must be worn as per the corner indicated on the draw.
Mouthguards must not contain the colour red.
Hands can only be wrapped using cotton bandages, professional gauze and adhesive taping is not permitted.
Drink bottles used during the bouts must be clear and contain only water.
Red and blue warm-up areas are available. Boxers/coaches competing in the first three bouts of their sessions may enter the venue 30 minutes before their allocated session starts to commence warmup.
Coaches/Corner Staff
All boxers must be cornered by a coach holding a current Boxing Australia coaching accreditation (Level 1 or higher) and a full Competition membership with Boxing ACT or local State/Territory Member Association. Boxers can have an additional assistant coach in their corner; however, only Boxing Australia accredited coaches can mount the apron or enter the ring.
Spectating
Spectator tickets can be purchased online at www.boxingact.org.au/events. No tickets will be available at the door.
ACT Government restrictions permit up to 200 spectators in the venue. Family and friends have priority purchasing of tickets until 14 February before they are available to the general public.
A live-stream of the event will also be available for purchase through the Boxing ACT Facebook.
Canteen facilities will be available at the venue. No alcohol can be purchased or brought into the venue.
Spectators must remain seated at all times unless moving between entrance/exit and amenities.
Parking / Access
Please note that separate parking areas and access routes are to be used for Weigh-in and the Sessions. Parking for the Weigh-in is in the main carpark near the front entrance to the school, off Kelleway Ave, marked in orange on the map.
Parking for the sessions is to the venue is in the carpark off Clarrie Hermes Drive, highlighted in blue on the map.
Volunteers
Please remember that this event is organised and run by volunteers who are doing this for the good of the sport. Rude or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.
