WelcomeWelcome to Boxing ACT - the home of Olympic Boxing in the Australian Capital Territory, seat of Australia's national capital Canberra.Boxing ACT was established in 1999 and became an affiliate of the national body (Boxing Australia Inc) in 2002. Boxing ACT has full responsibility for all amateur boxing matters in the Capital Territory, including the training and accreditation of amateur boxing coaches, judges and referees, the registration of boxers, coaches and officials, and enforcement of strict safety standards in the sport. Under ACT law, only boxers registered with Boxing ACT or an interstate affiliate of Boxing Australia are permitted to compete in the ACT. We conduct regular local tournaments and an annual ACT Titles, send an ACT team to the Australian Championships each year, and send teams to major events such as the Arafura Games. In our short history, our boxers have won gold and silver medals at every Australian Championships we have attended and we have had local boxers on the Australian team to the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the 2004 Olympic Games, the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2008 Olympic Games. Our boxers have won gold medals at several Oceania Titles. We are affiliated with Boxing Australia Inc., the ACT Olympic Council, and ACTSPORT.
